Capturing the Wyuna Botanicals Range
This campaign was a little different - we sought out Wyuna through our internal channels in order to highlight the brand’s mission statement (To enhance your inherent beauty using plant-based sustainable skincare) while also attracting future clients in the beauty industry.
We wanted to learn about the ingredients and thoughtful approach required to produce a sustainable skincare line, while also showcasing our studio skills for a curated branding shoot. The videos and images captured would be utilised across Wyuna’s socials, website and email mailouts.
Pre-Production
After speaking with the founders of Wyuna, Hannah & Suzette Mason, we knew we wanted a studio based content shoot that focussed on the packaging of each product, the bundles on offer, all centered around the natural ingredients infused into their Cream, Cleanser and Mist. Hannah & Suzette sent over a mood board that included inspiration from high end branding shoots they wanted to work towards, lighting and props, as well as video references.
As a team, we dove into brainstorming on shapes and lighting we wanted to achieve for the brand, but also to push the boundaries of content we wanted to attract clientele in a similar industry.
Production
Over the course of several days, we internally at Spicy Tiger were able to capture some unboxing footage that highlighted the detail of the packaging for WYUNA Botanicals. This then allowed us to be well versed in their range by the time Hannah and Suzette arrived for the full day of content shooting.
We made use of the various backdrops available to us in our in-house studio, to compliment each of the individual products, while ensuring the fresh ingredients were always used to compliment the product.
Through careful setups, our photographers meticulously staged the skincare line alongside the produce props in a way that felt light and natural; relying on vases with water to assist floating the ingredients, and pops of colour in the mushroom lamp props, for example, that gave a higher dimension of quality and symmetry to each setup.
Next came time for Hannah and Suzette to step in as models - they know their products better than anyone. We did a mixture of photography and videography when highlighting the textures and feeling of using the creams, mists and cleanser. Everything needed to feel clean and natural, so our lighting was set to build a distance between the background and foreground, bringing the product and skin into focus.
In our edit, we wanted to really involve Hannah & Suzette in the process of selecting their favourite shots. At the end of the day, our work is going to represent their brand, so they were an essential component in translating that into their selects for social, website banners and ECOM assets. As the setups were clean on the day of the shoot, there was minimal editing required outside of colour correction or photoshopping out wires and such used to float the products or props.
Results
Collaborating with Wyuna Botanicals was a truly rewarding experience. Not only are their products designed thoughtfully, but their approach to the shoot made for a smooth and creative execution. We’re excited to be able to offer in-house branding solutions, and Wyuna Botanicals were the perfect client to showcase our vision and skill.
